Your First Raid: What to Do
Step-by-step walkthrough of your initial raids, including loadout recommendations and extraction tips.
You have control over where you drop on the map. Consider proximity to loot, extraction points, and likely player density when choosing.
Hot drops (popular POIs with lots of players) are exciting but dangerous. For your first raids, aim for quieter areas to learn the map.
Watch the terrain as you descend -- look for buildings, rocks, or other landmarks to help with navigation.
Tips
- +Mark your drop location before the raid starts so you do not forget
- +Drop slightly off-target if the direct path takes you over a player-heavy area
In your first raids, focus on three things: a weapon (if you did not bring one), armor, and healing items. Everything else is bonus.
Check every building systematically. Loot is not always obvious -- look inside containers, on shelves, and in corners.
Weapons should be your top priority after basic survival gear. A good weapon lets you defend yourself and take on better-equipped enemies.
Tips
- +Do not overlook white-tier items -- they are still useful for filling slots
- +Weapons with green or blue rarity are worth picking up even if you have a loadout
There is no shame in a quick extraction with minimal loot. Every successful raid builds your stash, no matter how small.
Extracting with any loot is better than dying with the best gear. The insurance system helps, but nothing beats a live extraction.
Watch the timer. If you are below 2 minutes and far from extraction, start heading that way regardless of your loot.
Tips
- +A 10-minute raid with small loot is better than a 25-minute raid that ends in death
- +Your first goal should be 10 successful extractions in a row -- do not focus on loot until then
